2007-2008 Executive Board

Shanna Williamson is a senior from Clarkston, Mich. and is earning her B.A.A. in Integrative Public Relations with minors in Journalism and Art History. After graduation in May 2008, she hopes to move to the east coast to pursue her dream career in corporate PR. Williamson has been a member of PRSSA since Spring 2005 and is also involved with PR Central and Sports Illustrated on Campus.

Nicole Barnes, Vice President

Nicole Barnes is a senior from Grass Lake, Mich. and is majoring in Integrative Public Relations while triple minoring in Recreation, Leadership and Public Affairs. Barnes has been a member of PRSSA since Fall 2005. Upon graduation in December 2008, she hopes to work in PR for the travel and tourism industry. In addition to PRSSA, Barnes is a member of PR Central.

Christine Kunde, Treasurer

Christine is a senior from Fowlerville, Mich. and is double majoring in Integrative Public Relations and Entrepreneurship with a minor in Journalism. She plans to graduate in May of 2009 with a B.A.A. and will move forward to working at a PR agency, followed by one day owning her own business. She is completing an internship with the Michigan Nature Association and is actively involved in PRSSA. In her spare time, Kunde is reading, laughing out loud and spending time with her sister.

Lauren Irwin, Secretary

Lauren Irwin is a senior from New Baltimore, Mich. and is earning her B.A.A. in Integrative Public Relations with minors in Journalism and Events Management. Next summer she hopes to complete her internship abroad and will graduate in December 2008. After graduation, she plans on working either in health or travel and tourism PR. This is her second year in PRSSA and she is very excited to hold the secretary position.

Katie Alexander, PR Director

Katie Alexander has been a member of PRSSA for three years and has served on the executive board for two. She is a Journalism major with a Public Relations concentration and is also earning a Sports Management minor.

She will be graduating in May of 2008 and hopes to find a job in the PR sports industry. This past summer, Alexander was the PR intern at Volunteers of America in her hometown of Lansing, Mich. Along with PRSSA, Alexander is also a member of the Delta Zeta chapter of Alpha Chi Omega and enjoys spending spare time swimming, working out and with friends and family.

Angela Hernandez, Historian

Angela Hernandez is a sophomore from Allen Park, Mich., pursuing her B.A.A. in Integrative Public Relations with a minor in Leadership. She has been a member of PRSSA since Spring 2007. Planning to graduate in Spring of 2010, she hopes to work in corporate PR. This past summer she worked with the Detroit Lions helping to develop the team's media guide.

Outside of PRSSA, Hernandez is also involved with Leadership Safari, Homecoming Committee, the CMU Honors Program, and works as a student writer for the CMU Public Relations and Marketing Department. In her spare time, she enjoys hanging out with family and friends and playing tennis.

Jena Johnson, SGA Representative

Jena Johnson is a junior fron Hastings, Mich., majoring in Integrative Public Relations and minoring in Public Affairs and Spanish. After receiving her B.A.A., she hopes to work for an agency in a large city. Johnson has been a member of PRSSA since Fall 2006 and is excited to be serving as SGA representative this year.

Becky Lathers, Immediate Past President

Becky Lathers is a graduate from Marshall, Michigan. She earned her B.A.A. in Integrative Public Relations with a minor in Recreation in May of 2007. Lathers is pursuing her career in travel and tourism PR and currently resides in Michigan.

Steevy Griffin, PR Central President

Steevy Griffin is a senior from Fenton, Mich. majoring in Integrative Public Relations with minors in Journalism and Apparel Merchandising and Design. Griffin has been a member of PRSSA since 2005 and involved with PR Central since 2006.

Along with PRSSA she is a member of the Fashion Association of Merchandising and Design and involved with CMU's annual fashion show. She studied Fashion Marketing at the Institute of Marangoni in Milan, Italy during the summer of 2007. After graduating in December of 2008, Griffin plans to move to New York City or Los Angeles to pursue her career in fashion public relations with a designer or public relations firm.
