The Public Relations Student Society of America CMU chapter's purpose is for its members to obtain a general knowledge of public relations and to cultivate favorable and mutually advantageous relationships between student and professional public relations practitioners.

The Diane S. Krider Chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) at Central Michigan University is located in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. The chapter boasts more than 100 members and provides budding public relations professionals with networking, professional development and social opportunities.

A very active chapter, the group travels around the state visiting public relations organizations to learn about a day in the life of their future careers and different areas to work in the field, such as agencies, nonprofit and corporate.

Paid members also have the opportunity to develop their philanthropic roots by participating in various community service projects. Trips to the Hearth Home in Saginaw are a frequent stop for the robust group.
